About Us

ULAN was created in 1995 as a joint venture of United Way of Southern Nevada and Nevada State AFL-CIO based on a desire to build a better community and to help people in need.

ULAN is directed by a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of members of organized labor and the community. The founding Executive Director along with a dedicated staff; members of AmeriCorps and VISTA; and committed volunteers serve thousands of individuals and families each year that are seeking a helping hand during a time of hardship.

ULAN is funded by grant awards, pledges, fundraising events, donations from individuals, organizations, and payroll giving campaigns.

ULAN is proud to be a partner agency of United Way of Southern Nevada and supports the good works of AmeriCorps, the Volunteer Center and Nevada 2-1-1. To further enhance collaboration among the service providers in the community, ULAN created Community Services Provider Network (CSPN) because we believe by working together we can reach further into the community to improve the quality of life for those that need a helping hand.

“ULAN provides a support system and offers a safety net during tough times”
